Episcopal 101
Sundays at 12:15 - 1:30 pm
Episcopal 101 is a class designed to be an introduction to the Episcopal Church, meant for those who are interested in the Rite of Confirmation or formal Reception into the Episcopal Church, and for those who just want to learn more about the Episcopal Church and why we do the things we do. Our most recent class preceded the confirmation of three of our young people on May 13, 2018.
Adult Sunday School
Adult Sunday School will be held before Holy Eucharist beginning September through November 2018, using the book, Walk in Love: Episcopal Beliefs and Practices by Scott Gunn and Melody Wilson Shobe. All adults are invited to this class, and it will also serve as preparation for anyone seeking Confirmation or Reception into the Episcopal Church during Bishop Skirving's next scheduled visit to Church of the Advent on December 2, 2018.
Monthly Wednesday Nights
A Series on Contemplative Spirituality and Practices

Our world is busy, noisy and stressful, making it challenging to find that quiet time to listen to God. On September 5, October 10, and November 14 we will begin with Evening Prayer in the sanctuary at 6 pm, followed by a simple potluck meal and a presentation on Contemplative Spirituality. Drawing on practices that are ancient and yet unfamiliar to many, we will explore the holiness of silence where our prayers involve more listening than talking. Each evening session will be concluded by 8pm.
